Farmhouse Renovation

Architect: Geoff Cole
Project Completed: April 2021
Contractor: Burfitt & Garrett

This old stone farmhouse, which previously formed two modest semi-detached properties before being knocked into one, received a full renovation and modest two-storey extension to create a living environment with greater functionality that suits the requirements of modern day living. The work included internal alterations to reorder the floor plan, lining the internal walls with insulation to reduce heat loss, and replacing the existing UPVC windows with double glazed painted timber windows.

The existing barns adjacent to the farmhouse, formed from a mixture of modern farm and stone outbuildings that were previously used as kennels, were also converted to form an annex and studio space which maintain an agricultural aesthetic.

A newly built barn was also constructed alongside the existing outbuildings to form a workshop and garage.
