This redundant and utilitarian agricultural/light industrial barn was converted and extended to create an exciting 4-bedroom contemporary dwelling.
Working with a highly regarded local developer, the overall brief has evolved since we originally obtained planning consent.
The original 3-storey ‘bungalow’ is now a dramatic 4-bedroom, 2-storey building with oak framed screens and vaulted double-height living spaces.
Normally creation of a new dwelling would not be allowed within this countryside location. Due to recent revisions to Permitted Development rights we obtained the principle of consent, followed by utilising legal precedents to significantly deviate from what would be permissible: as a result the clients achieved consent on a greater scheme to maximise their asset.
