The brief was to create a new junior boarding house with 52 beds and associated house-parents accommodation. The design makes reference to the original Edwardian boarding house designed by Bloomfield & Caroe to maintain coherence of design across the school campus.
The site was challenging being on the corner of Bradford Road and Horsecastles Lane with some mature trees to consider.
The design celebrates the corner with fully glazed feature stair tower and principal rooms overlooking the recreation field to the south with symmetrical façade. Internally, the accommodation is light and modern with en suite facilities to the dorms.
