This new build 14-classroom block includes central atrium street.
Plan form and section of the building were designed to allow natural ventilation with the atrium used to promote air circulation by natural buoyancy. Windows are automatically controlled using CO2 sensors within classrooms.
The building is heated with 12 bore holes and ground source heat pump. DALI light fittings allow energy use to be controlled making the resulting building low energy and highly sustainable.
