Architect: Geoff Cole
Project Completed: 2022
Contractor: HHP Ltd
The initial proposal was to make use of a redundant farmyard to house 4no. new build dwellings. However, it was later possible to develop the site more efficiently and adding more diversity in tenure by creating a pair of semi-detached cottages, allowing for 5no. dwellings with large gardens and spacious internal layouts. The design aesthetic is constant between properties using a similar material palette, with generally traditional design with a contemporary twist in how materials are used. This ensures the development will have a sense of identity in the village and give residents an individual sense of place. During construction, one dwelling was granted further planning permission to erect a garden room improving the flow throughout the ground floor.
