This characterful plot in East Knoyle was formerly the site of a much rundown cottage. The design of the two new houses was to sensitively fit in with the existing properties within the conservation area, and achieved planning consent in 2017. Use of local materials and an appropriate scale and form were key attributes in the design process.
The rear house is faced in local greensand stone under a clay tile roof, in keeping with the previous residence. This house has achieved 4 bedrooms and benefits from the views out across the AONB. The front house is slightly more modest in scale, being of 3 bedrooms, but has been finished to a similar quality within.
The properties were constructed by a local contractor, and now recently completed are on the market.
